dakṣiṇe ṛṣitīrthasya mokṣatīrthaṃ paraṃ mama || tatra vai snānamātreṇa mokṣameva prapadyate

To the south of the Rishis' tirtha is my supreme tirtha of liberation; there, by bathing alone, one attains liberation itself.

पिण्डदानात्तु तत्रैव पितृलोके स गच्छति ।। गया पिण्डप्रदानेन यत्फलं लभते नरः ।। तत्फलं लभते देवि ज्येष्ठे दानान्न संशयः

By the offering of rice-balls there itself he goes to the world of the fathers. Whatever fruit a man obtains by giving rice-balls at Gayā, that fruit, O goddess, he obtains by giving in the month of Jyeṣṭha — there is no doubt.

The Earth said: Puṣkara, and Naimiṣa, and likewise the city Vārāṇasī — leaving these aside, O greatly fortunate one, why does (one) praise Mathurā? The fathers attain satisfaction as long as the twice-born (?) remains in place — those other people who dwell, O greatly fortunate one, in Mathurā. Having reached the Gaṅgā at Prayāga, which on earth is renowned as Veṇī — a hundred times more meritorious than the Gaṅgā is (the tirtha) in my Mathurā region, bathing in which a man, O goddess, would obtain the fruit of the Agniṣṭoma; reaching Indra's world that man, O goddess, rejoices. In that excellent house, O goddess, a brahmin, best of yogins, remembering his (past) births, of great wisdom, devoted to Viṣṇu, O Vasundharā — and if he gives up his life-breaths there, he is honoured in my world. And, O Vasudhā, the man who performs the śrāddha at the Dhruva-tirtha — by the mere remembrance of these (tirthas) one is freed from all sins; and, having heard the greatness of the tirthas, one would obtain one's desires.
