Then, O Vasundharā, (she/he) went to Piṇḍāraka, my sacred field; then, having gone to Lohārgala, (there she/he) remains a thousand (years). Soma said: I bow to Śiva, the gentle one, Umā's beloved, anxious to show favour to his devotees, the five-faced, blue-throated, three-eyed one. That indeed is another, supreme form of mine, O moon, there is no doubt; and this belongs always to those who worship the liṅga, who are my devotees. For a hundred divine years she performed austerity, meditating then on Viṣṇu; then in person the Lord of the world, Hari, dear to devoted folk (appeared). Though this (world) is being created by the three constituents of nature, it is not otherwise: O god, merely by your presence, you shining forth as the cause. What has been asked by the river, ever greedy for union with me? I shall give what is asked, whereby there is release from existence for the worlds. And while that moon looked on, (he) vanished right there. On the southern side of Someśa, having split the mountain with an arrow — he is not known; (it) came about; he remained in the worship of me alone. Then Nandī, laughing, spoke to the sage at Mahādeva's command; having seen his family name there and having asked his personal name as well, he asked after his welfare in house and wealth and in his herds of cattle. Dharaṇī said: At Prayāga, she who is Triveṇī, where the god Maheśvara is known as Śūlaṭaṅka and another as Someśa — all those of Maharloka and the rest were astonished in every direction; wishing to know his origin, they were in no way able. I am set upon performing austerity for the world's welfare, desiring boons from you, eager for the sight of you — where, for the purpose of ordaining creation, having made a separate hermitage, where the power of ordaining creation was obtained; beyond that: "since, having taken, you do not give, therefore obtain the condition of a crocodile." And Vijaya said: "Surely you have become blind; what is the use of riches?" While the two, O Earth, deluded by the curse, were roaming in the forest, once that elephant, surrounded by his troop of she-elephants, (went) to bathe. Many principles were oppressed and came to destruction. Then Jaleśvara the king made his petition to the Lord. By bathing there one becomes full of splendour and is honoured in the sun's world; if one be parted from his life-breaths (there), he is honoured in my world. This Traidhārika tīrtha arose from the three braids, where Śambhu, the great yogin Maheśvara, stands in person; and there, when one wholly devoted to Śiva gives up his life-breaths, he passes beyond the Yakṣa-world and attains my world.
