Vasundharā replied to the god in the boar's form: "...and it was done at Kokāmukha, indeed in my own field, O beautiful one. A certain hunter, an eater of flesh, roaming in the region of Kokā — handsome, endowed with virtues, brave, intent upon the business of war; and he shows hostility to a gentle man and to all. When (the sun) had gone to its solstice, their story became a wonder on earth. The two, joined in mutual love, never abandoned one another anywhere. Let the human state be given up: remember that former birth. Now, good lady, there is curiosity to hear of the earlier birth — the supreme, great secret never told to you before. I wish to go quickly to that highest station of Viṣṇu. Merchants and townsmen and Vaiśyas and lovely women followed the prince who stood on the road to Kokāmukha. By that blow of his a pain arose in the head. I alone know it; no other but me knows. Then he saw me there, eating a lump of flesh. Then he raised his bow and drew it with an arrow. All of them too perform each of these things by the rite laid down in the injunction. There that married pair (gave) goods, food, and a jewel to the twice-born. They too, established as my devotees, perform the rites. They too, after a long time, wandering here and there... And it is to be given to a learned man, and to one skilled in the treatises. Whoever, composed in mind, should hold this even at the hour of death — whoever goes by this rule to great Kokāmukha, they too attain the highest perfection, as the kite and the fish did of old."
