Tell again, O great god, his greatness in particular; and a great eagerness to hear grows in me, dear one. The wombs (classes of birth) of the gods are eight, and the human is the ninth; the wombs of animals are five — thus there are fourteen. Even the life-breath of the world (Brahmā?) was deluded by pride through Śiva's māyā; Vyāsa, conquered by Kāma, once took pleasure in another's wife. Garuḍa, greatly deluded, wished to carry off the maiden Śāṇḍilī; but being recognized by her, at once his wings were burnt.
