The ten sons of Manu Auttameya, O best of seers, are remembered; there Indra was named Vibhu, lord of the three worlds. There the Manu called Raivata is to be known, the brother of Tāmasa. First I shall declare the Manu Dakṣasāvarṇi — listen: Medhātithi and the son of Pulastya, Vasu, and Kaśyapa. But in the eleventh round, in the period of the third Manu, his seven seers too — learn from me as they are recounted: Niṣprapañca, and Ātreya, Nirdeha, and Kaśyapa, and Sutapas and the son of Vasiṣṭha — these seven are the great seers, declared by Sanatkumāra to Vyāsa of measureless brilliance. When a full thousand yugas have ended, (the world) is to be protected according to its own law.
