śvabhojano'tha ruṣṭaśca mahārauravaśālmalī || ityādyā bahavastatra narakā duḥkhadāyakāḥ sādhvyā vikrayakṛccātha vārddhakī keśavikrayī || taptaloheṣu pacyaṃte yaśca bhaktaṃ parityajet vratasya lopakā ye ca svāśramādvicyutāśca ye|| saṃdaṃśayātanāmadhye pataṃti bhṛśadāruṇe prāyaścittaṃ tu yasyaiva pāpaṃ puṃsaḥ prajāyate|| kṛte pāpe'nutāpo'pi śivasaṃsmaraṇaṃ param evametanmayākhyātaṃ sarvaṃ narakamaṇḍalam || ata ūrdhvaṃ pravakṣyāmi sāṃprataṃ maṃḍalaṃ bhuvaḥ

Then Śvabhojana and Ruṣṭa, Mahāraurava and Śālmalī — these and many more are the hells there that inflict suffering. One who sells a virtuous woman, and a carpenter, and a seller of hair — these are cooked upon heated irons, and (so is) he who abandons a devotee. And those who break a vow, and those who have fallen away from their own order of life, fall into the torment of Saṃdaṃśa, which is exceedingly terrible. But expiation (is prescribed) for the very man in whom sin arises; and when a sin has been committed, remorse too, and above all the remembrance of Śiva. Thus this whole circle of hells has been declared by me; above this I shall now describe the sphere of the earth.
