At one and the same moment both that attendant and Arjuna arrived for the arrow; Arjuna, rebuking him, then seized his own arrow. "And how does a man who is an ascetic speak falsehood and act (so)? Know that I am not alone, and that I am a commander of an army." Nandīśvara said: Having heard this speech of his, Pārtha Arjuna then, growing angry and calling Śiva to mind, spoke a measured word. The Bhilla said: "You are ignorant, you are no seer; why do you court death? Give up the arrow and stay at ease; otherwise you will get your share of pain." The Kirāta said: "Look at the army — you are an ascetic; release the arrow, go now. Why do you now wish for death for the sake of a trifling matter?"
