There indeed, relying on the cooking-vessel given by the Sun, the Pāṇḍavas then passed the time in comfort. Then those Pāṇḍavas asked Kṛṣṇa: "What will happen? A powerful enemy has arisen; tell us, lord, what is to be done?" Hearing that statement of his in this way, they came to grief, O lord of sages; those Pāṇḍavas, exceedingly sorrowful, said to one another: "Let poverty, the cause of suffering, go for certain! And this is the nature of the great, reckoned equal to the wish-granting tree. By the wicked Dhṛtarāṣṭra, blind from the first, dharma was abandoned of his own accord out of greed, and your kingdom was seized." Nandīśvara said: Having heard this speech, Vyāsa, filled with joy, remembering Śiva's lotus feet, spoke to the Pāṇḍavas with affection: "But first one should recite Indra's vidyā with a firm mind; and for a kṣatriya of the highest name just this is prescribed."
