(She was) possessed of great opulence, rich in fine wealth, greatly radiant, set about with many kinds of jewels, brimming with the savour of love. || The cock, with rudrākṣa beads bound to its crest, together with the monkey, skilled in dance, danced every day, bringing benefit to those who watched. || The merchant-lord said: If your mind is set with longing upon this excellent divine jewel, then put it on yourself with all goodwill; why do you (offer to) pay its price? || She, joined at night with that merchant of libertine conduct, slept pleasantly on a bed spread with a soft mattress. || Even if Brahmā, Indra, Viṣṇu and the rest were to come and hold me back, even so, good lady, at this very moment I enter (the fire) and give up my breath. || Having given away all her possessions to the foremost brahmins, and having meditated on Sadāśiva, she circled that fire three times and turned to face the entering. || Whatever servants and maidservants are mine, and whatever other kinsmen of mine — all of them are intent on the sight of you, their livelihoods surrendered to you.
