Then at once the foremost of the hosts came, laughing, together with the best of the hosts who leapt about here and there with roars of laughter. He himself made known (his request): "What is the reason for summoning me here? Command me, Lord of the world; let favour be shown to me. Bali was bound by you as the Dwarf when you strode forth again; you alone are the origin of all beings, the imperishable Lord. Whatever being is possessed of power, of splendour, or of might — know each of these, O Lord of the hosts, as an expansion of my own energy. You are Nature, you are the Male, Rudra; in you is virility gathered. From the lotus of your navel was born the five-faced Grandfather. Is it forgetfulness that by a portion of him (something was) afflicted by the tearing out of the tusk? ... in the boar's obstructing hand today, which cried out with the doer of Tāraka('s deed) ... firm, imperishable, a hero, a hero, the lord who is the protector(?) of the universe, the fearsome slayer of fever, a beast, a bird, made of gold."
