When Hara had gone to his own mountain, what did Pārvatī, the all-auspicious, do, and where did she go? Tell me that, O greatly wise one. — (Then) with throngs of plantain-trunks set up all around, and with groups of women who had husbands and sons, lamps in their hands, the brahmins and the family priest and her friends and other women brought Śivā into the house with great honour. To see her all the townspeople, men and women alike, came suddenly there, children and the aged too, indeed. Meanwhile the mountain (Himālaya) came there from the Gaṅgā; he saw before him a mendicant standing in the courtyard, in human form. In this way he saw many forms of his there, and at once became greatly astonished and filled with supreme bliss.
