pārvatyuvāca || etāvaddhi mayā jñātaṃ kaścidanyoyamāgataḥ || idānīṃ sakalaṃ jñātamavadhyastvamviśeṣataḥ
Pārvatī said: This much only I had understood—that this is someone else who has come; now the whole is understood: you are especially not to be killed.

What you have said is understood, O god; that is false and not otherwise. If it had (really) been uttered by you, what is contrary would not be spoken by you. Those who always worship with love that Śaṅkara, the lord of Śakti—to such a one Śambhu ever gives the threefold power, imperishable. He in whose mouth is unceasingly the auspicious name 'Śiva'—by the very sight of him others become pure always. Neither Viṣṇu nor Brahmā is anywhere equal to that great-souled one; how much less others, the gods and the rest, who are always subject to time? Leaving this place this very day, let us go elsewhere without delay, so that there be no further conversation with this ignorant one. All (my) effort has been destroyed; let that be, O best of sages—when the fruit has come, a creature's earlier effort meets with destruction.

kadāciddṛśyate tādṛk veṣadhārī maheśvaraḥ || svalīlayā parabrahma svarāgopāttavigrahaḥ
Sometimes Maheśvara, the supreme Brahman, is seen bearing such a guise, having assumed a body by his own play and his own inclination.

brahmacārisvarūpeṇa pratārayitumudyataḥ|| āgataśchalasaṃyuktaṃ vacovādīḥ kuyuktitaḥ|
In the form of a brahmacārin, set on deceiving (me), you have come and, with crooked reasoning, spoken words joined with fraud.

śaṃkarasya svarūpaṃ tu jānāmi suviśeṣataḥ || śivatattvamato vacmi suvicāryya yathārhataḥ
But I know Śaṅkara's true nature quite particularly; therefore I shall speak the truth about Śiva, having well considered it as is fitting.

SiP 2 91.6
vastuto nirguṇo brahma saguṇaḥ kāraṇena saḥ || kuto jātirbhavettasya nirguṇasya guṇātmanaḥ
In reality Brahman is without attributes; (only) through (its being) a cause is it with attributes. Whence could there be a birth for him, who is attributeless yet the self of the attributes?
AI translation rendered from the Sanskrit, not a published edition
SiP 2 91.7
sa sarvāsāṃ hi vidyānāmadhiṣṭhānaṃ sadāśivaḥ || kiṃ tasya vidyayā kāryyaṃ pūrṇasya paramātmanaḥ
For he, Sadāśiva, is the substratum of all branches of knowledge. What work is there for him through knowledge, for the supreme Self who is complete?

vedā ucchvāsarūpeṇa purā dattāśca viṣṇave || śaṃbhunā tena kalpādau tatsamaḥ ko'sti suprabhuḥ
And the Vedas were formerly given to Viṣṇu by Śambhu in the form of his out-breath; therefore, at the beginning of the aeon, who is a mighty lord equal to him?

sarveṣāmādibhūtasya vayomānaṃ kutastataḥ || prakṛtistu tato jātā kiṃ śaktestasya kāraṇam
For him who is the first of all beings, how then could there be a reckoning of age? And Prakṛti was born from him — what then is the cause of his power?

tasyaiva bhajanājjīvo mṛtyuṃ jayati nirbhayaḥ || tasmānmṛtyuṃjayannāma prasiddhambhuvanatraye

tasyaiva pakṣapātena viṣṇurviṣṇutvamāpnuyāt || brahmatvaṃ ca yathā brahmā devā devatvameva ca
By his partiality alone Viṣṇu would attain Viṣṇu-hood, and Brahmā Brahmā-hood, and the gods godhood too.

darśanārthaṃ śivasyādau yathā gacchati devarāṭ|| bhūtādayastatparasya dvārapālāśśivasya tu
Just as the king of the gods goes first to see Śiva, so the Bhūtas and the rest, devoted to him, are the door-keepers of Śiva.

saptajanmadaridraḥ syātsevenno yadi śaṃkaram || tasyaitatsevanālloko lakṣmīḥ syādanapāyinī
