When Smara had been reduced to ashes by the fire of Śambhu's third eye, and when that (fire) had entered the ocean — tell what happened after that. Taking his daughter quickly on his lap, the lord of the Himavat mountain then brought her to his own dwelling, consoling her, who was greatly distressed. Then you were honoured by that great-souled mountain, and, seated on an excellent seat, you asked after his welfare. Brahmā said: Having heard your words thus, O sage, that daughter of the mountain, Kālī, sighing a little, spoke to you joyfully with folded hands. Brahmā said: Having thus spoken to Kālī then, O Nārada, you, dear to Śiva, went at your own will to heaven, intent on the good of the gods.
