Then that Caṇḍikā, who formerly had abandoned her body by yoga because of her father, by her own will wished once more to become the daughter of the mountain; (and) the lord of the mountain, O sage, having in secret smelled that face of hers, fragrant as earth, was satisfied, and there arose an excess of love. — "O you who abide in truth, well pleased with truth, whose origin is truth, and truly true of the true, whose eyes are truth: we have come to you for refuge." The Vidyādhara women, and likewise the Apsarases, danced in the sky; then there was a great festival of the gods and others in the vault of heaven. "In every way bring about the welfare of the gods, O you who cherish your devotees; Menā's wish has been fulfilled — do likewise for Hara." "Having thus granted you a boon, I have gone respectfully to my own abode; when the time comes I shall be your daughter, O beloved of the mountain."
