There she saw her father's mansion, filled with many marvels, radiant and lovely, thronged with hosts of gods and seers. (She said:) Śambhu is the sacrifice, the best of those who know the sacrifice, the limb of the sacrifice, the sacrificial fee, and the performer of the sacrifice; without him, how can there be a rite? Once, having become five-faced, you grew proud toward Sadāśiva; by him you were made four-faced — have you forgotten that wonder? Dakṣa said: What need is there of much talk with you? There is no business for you here now. Go or stay, good lady; why indeed have you come? If one has the power, then, especially in the case of a reviler of Śambhu, one should forcibly cut out his tongue: thereby one is purified, no doubt. Since he swiftly showers upon the world's petitioners out of regard for Śiva(?), yet you in your folly do harm to him who is the kinsman of all. When the Lord whose banner is the bull calls your lineage by naming me 'Dākṣāyaṇī', at once I become deeply downcast.
