tataḥ kimabhavattāta kathyatāṃ śaśimaulinaḥ satyāśca caritaṃ divyaṃ sarvāghaughavināśanam tato lajjāparītāṃgassthitaścāhamadhomukhaḥ || indrādyairamaraissarvaissudṛṣṭassarvatassthitaiḥ etadeva hi te brahman prāyaścittaṃ mayeritam || janahāsyakaraṃ loke tava garhākaraṃ param raṃbhādiṣu puraṃdhrīṣu nṛtyamānāsu sādaram || mahotsavo mahānāsīddevapatnīṣu nārada yā nārī durbhagā vaṃdhyā kāṇā rūpavivarjitā || sāpi tvaddarśanādeva nirdoṣā saṃbhaveddhruvam kecidvādyānvādayanto gāyaṃtassusvaraṃ pare || śivaṃ śivayaśaśśuddhamanujagmuḥ śivaṃ mudā tasyā'vighnaṃ bhavetsarvaṃ karma vaivāhikaṃ ca yat || śubhākhyamaparaṃ karma nirvighnaṃ sarvadā bhavet
What happened after that, father? Let the divine deeds of the moon-crested one and of Satī, which destroy every flood of sin, be told. — Then I stood with my limbs overcome by shame, my face downcast, well observed by all the immortals, Indra and the rest, standing on every side. "This very thing, O brahman, has been declared by me as your expiation: it will make you a laughing-stock among people in the world, and will bring you the utmost reproach." While Rambhā and the other women danced respectfully, there was a great festival among the wives of the gods, O Nārada. Whatever woman is ill-fortuned, barren, one-eyed, devoid of beauty — she too, merely by seeing you, will surely become free of defect. Some, playing instruments, and others singing sweetly, followed Śiva of pure and auspicious fame, Śiva, with joy. For her, all rites, both those of marriage and any other rite called auspicious, shall be free of obstacles always.
