I, being very discerning, consoled Dakṣa as before; I made him greatly affectionate, bringing about (his) full goodwill toward you. Then, after the birth of a son, the lord of creatures Dakṣa, together with his wife, greatly pleased, held in his mind that Mother of the world. And all those (gods), having come there, praised the Mother of the world, who does good to the worlds, bowing again and again: "She by whom the Creator was formerly appointed to the creation of the world — you, that supreme Mother of the world, the Great Goddess, I salute." Brahmā said: Having spoken thus, the Goddess then, by her own māyā, assuming a childlike state, cried in the presence of Dakṣa and of (her) mother. And other names of hers arose afterwards among the people, bestowing great auspiciousness and especially destroying sorrow.
