नारद उवाच ।। ब्रह्मन्विधे महा प्राज्ञ वद नो वदतां वर ।। दक्षे गृहं गते प्रीत्या किमभूत्तदनंतरम्

Having so resolved, those sons, of good understanding and of one mind, having bowed to him and circumambulated him, (went) upon the path of life from which there is no returning. Just then that Prajāpati saw many portents; he, my son Dakṣa, was astonished and grieved in mind. And you, O sage, of unchanging mind, received his curse; this very one, O good brahmin, endures it, and he himself too (endures).
