Having granted the boon of lordship over treasures and having gone to his own supreme abode, the Lord of the universe, the giver of boons to Kubera, reflected in his heart. And the great and blessed troop-lords, honoured by all the worlds — I shall tell their number; listen attentively. Another was Kākapāda with sixty (crores), Saṃtānaka the lord with sixty, and Mahābala with nine, and Madhupiṅga and Piṅgala. Going there and seeing Śiva, they bowed and made supreme praise; all of them with joined palms, Viṣṇu foremost, with heads bowed, all worshipped him in turn, with various gifts in their hands; they performed the lamp-waving ceremony preceded by a great festival. Having heard this speech of Śambhu and bowed well, by his command Hari and I went to our own abodes with gladdened minds. Thus this descent of Rudra has been described to you, O lord of sages, and his coming to Kailāsa out of friendship for the lord of treasures.
