Sanatkumāra said: Nārāyaṇa, the doer of the gods' business, the resort of the good, in the form of Śaṅkhacūḍa took his pleasure with that Ramā (Tulasī). And seeing him come before her, her own husband, she, filled with joy, washed his feet, bowed, and wept. Hearing Tulasī's words thus, that lord of Ramā, laughing, bearing the form of Śaṅkhacūḍa, spoke nectar-like speech to her. Tulasī said: Who indeed are you? Tell me at once. I have been enjoyed by you through trickery; since my chastity has been taken away, now I shall surely curse you. Śaṅkara said: Do not weep, Tulasī; a person consumes the fruit of his own action. There is no one who gives pleasure or pain in this transmigration, the ocean of karma. There are crores of worms there, sharp-fanged, terrifying; having cut that, they will make his wheel in the hollow. The lord of Kamalā went together with her to Vaikuṇṭha; and at once, born from her body, she became the river Gaṇḍakī.
