सनत्कुमार उवाच ।। सा च गत्वा हि संग्रामं सिंहनादं चकार ह ।। देव्याश्च तेन नादेन मूर्च्छामापुश्च दानवाः

And again and again she raised a horrid roar of laughter. Then she drank mead and danced at the front of the battle. Seeing her blazing, (he) bowed and stood upon the ground; the lord of the dānavas warded (her) off with the brahmā-weapon. The terrifying one went swiftly to devour Śaṅkhacūḍa; but the dānava held (her) off with a divine, fierce (raudra) weapon. The goddess, seizing the dānava and whirling him round again and again, in great fury flung him swiftly upward.
