Seeing Rudra coming, the fierce Gaṇas who had earlier been defeated returned again to the fight with lion-roars. And he made the Daityas afflicted with storms of arrows; with masses of nets of violent arrows he cast (them) down on the ground. "Heroes, for those who are born, death is born along with the body; whether today or after a hundred years, death is certain for living beings." And Maheśvara, of great sport, at once quickly split in two with his arrows the mace hurled by that son of Pārāśara. Then, seeing Rudra arrived, the beloved of Bhava came forth from among her companions and stood in the path of his sight. Pārvatī said: The path has been shown by him himself; do you understand it likewise. By my command, make that woman's vow of fidelity to her husband fall away.
