(Vyāsa said:) When that radiance of his, arisen from the eye in the forehead, had been cast into the salt water, what came about there, dear sir — tell me that at once, O brahman. And having gone there, those gods together with the sages and with Indra, after bowing and praising him well, spoke to that highest one (Brahmā). — Sanatkumāra said: While the ocean was speaking thus, that boy, the son of the ocean, seized Brahmā by the neck, shaking (him) again and again. — Sanatkumāra said: Having said this, he summoned Śukra and consecrated him (the boy) in the kingship; then, taking leave of the lord of the rivers, Brahmā vanished from sight. And that hero too, the child of the ocean, named Jalandhara, a hero among asura heroes, having won a most beautiful wife, ruled the kingdom as master of himself, indeed through the power of Kavi (Śukra).
