tattvaṃ vada mahāprājña caritaṃ śaśimaulinaḥ || vistārapūrvakaṃ śṛṇvankastṛpyettadyaśo'malam purandara uvāca || kastvaṃ bhoḥ kuta āyātaḥ kiṃ nāma vada tattvataḥ || svasthānesaṃsthitaśśaṃbhu kiṃ vānyatra gataḥ prabhuḥ || dṛṣṭvā bṛhaspatistūrṇaṃ prajvalaṃtaṃ svatejasā || puruṣaṃ taṃ dhiyā jñātvā praṇanāma haraṃ prabhum tvameva sarva lokeśastvameva jagadātmakaḥ || sarvānvayassarvabhinnastvameva prakṛteḥ paraḥ || bṛhaspatiruvāca || dīnanātha mahādeva praṇataṃ tava pādayoḥ || samuddhara ca śāṃtaṃ svaṃ krodhaṃ nayanajaṃ kuru || sanatkumāra uvāc || ityuktvā taṃ kare dhṛtvā svatejo'nalamadbhutam || bhālanetrātsamudbhūtaṃ prākṣipallavaṇāṃbhasi

Tell that truly, O greatly wise one—the exploit of the moon-crested one—at full length; who, hearing it, could be sated with that spotless glory? Purandara said: Who are you, sir? From where have you come? What is your name? Tell truly. Is the Lord Śambhu abiding in his own place, or has he gone elsewhere? Then Bṛhaspati, seeing at once (that) man blazing with his own splendour, and recognising him by his intellect, bowed to the Lord Hara. "You alone are the lord of all worlds, you alone are the self of the universe; you are connected with all and distinct from all, you alone are beyond primal nature." Bṛhaspati said: O protector of the wretched, O Mahādeva, raise up (me who am) bowed at your feet, and make your anger, born of your eye, calmed. Sanatkumāra said: Having said this, taking in his hand that wondrous fire of his own splendour which had arisen from his forehead-eye, he cast it into the salt sea.
