viśvarūpaprajeśasya divyarūpe sute ubhe|| siddhibuddhiriti khyāte śubhe sarvāṃgaśobhane tāvaśca nāradenaiva prāpto gehe mahātmanā|| yathārthaṃ vacmi no'satyaṃ na chalena na matsarāt yenaivedaṃ kṛtaṃ syādvai karmānarthakaraṃ param || śāṃtikāmassudhīstāta tanmukhaṃ na vilokayet kārtikyāṃ kṛttikāsaṃge kuryādyaḥ svāmidarśanam|| tasya pāpaṃ dahetsarvaṃ cittepsita phalaṃ labhet yaḥ paṭhetpāṭhayedvāpi śṛṇuyācchrāvayettathā || sarvānkāmānavāpnoti nātra kāryā vicāraṇā

Viśvarūpa the lord of creatures had two daughters of divine form, known as Siddhi and Buddhi, auspicious, lovely in every limb; and those two were brought to the house by the great-souled Nārada himself. I speak in accordance with truth, nothing false, not by trickery nor out of envy. By whom this may have been done, that deed is utterly fruitless. One who desires peace, being wise, my dear, should not look upon his face. Whoever, on the full-moon of Kārttika joined with the Kṛttikā (asterism), performs the viewing of the Lord — all his sin is burnt away, and he obtains the fruit desired in his heart. Whoever recites it, or has it recited, or hears it, or has it heard, obtains all his desires — no deliberation is needed here.
