What happened after that, dear one? Tell (me) the truth, O lord of the gods — (that story) abounding in the glory of Śivā and Śiva, bestowing great joy. "Six-faced (Skanda) is most dear, and Gaṇeśa likewise" — thus the two, whose delight is play, became agitated with this worry. And Gaṇanātha, best in intelligence, stationed right there, having pondered well with his good understanding, again and again in his very mind — Śivā and Śiva said: "You should traverse the whole earth with its forests; the boy (Kumāra) has gone there; you go, come back first." "He who, abandoning his parents at home, goes off to a sacred ford — his sin is declared to be the same as in killing those two." Śivā and Śiva said: "Son, a pure understanding has arisen in you, a great soul; the word that you have spoken — from that indeed, and not otherwise."
