I would turn you two hither to the rite, O kings, Indra and Varuṇa, with oblations and with homage. The ghee-dipped (spoon), held in the arms, goes round of itself before you, of changing form.

KINGS, Indra-Varuṇa, I would turn you hither to this our sacrifice with gifts and homage. Held in both arms the ladle, dropping fatness, goes of itself to you whose forms are varied.

RV 7 84.2

Compare with Ralph T.H. Griffith

Dyaus quickens and promotes your high dominion who bind with bonds not wrought of rope or cordage. Far from us still be Varuṇa's displeasure may Indra give us spacious room to dwell in.

Make our sacrifice pleasing at the assemblies; make our prayers praised among the patrons. Let god-impelled wealth come to us; advance us with your coveted helps.

AI translation rendered from the Sanskrit, not a published edition

Compare with Ralph T.H. Griffith

Make ye our sacrifice fair amid the assemblies: make ye our prayers approved among our princes. May God-sent riches come for our possession: further ye us with your delightful succours.

RV 7 84.4

अस्मे इन्द्रावरुणा विश्ववारꣳ रयिꣳ धत्तꣳ वसुमन्तम् पुरुक्षुम् । प्र य आदित्यो अनृता मिनात्य् अमिता शूरो दयते वसूनि

asme indrāvaruṇā viśvavāraṁ rayiṁ dhattaṁ vasumantam purukṣum | pra ya ādityo anṛtā mināty amitā śūro dayate vasūni

Set upon us, Indra and Varuṇa, wealth containing all desirable things, rich in goods and in much cattle — since the Āditya diminishes untruths, and the hero apportions unmeasured goods.

AI translation rendered from the Sanskrit, not a published edition

Compare with Ralph T.H. Griffith

O Indra-Varuṇa, vouchsafe us riches with store of treasure, food, and every blessing; For the Âditya, banisher of falsehood, the Hero, dealeth wealth in boundless plenty.

— tr. Ralph T.H. Griffith (1896)

RV 7 84.5

इयम् इन्द्रꣳ वरुणम् अष्ट मे गीः प्रावत् तोके तनये तूतुजाना । सुरत्नासो देववीतिꣳ गमेम यूयम् पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः

iyam indraṁ varuṇam aṣṭa me gīḥ prāvat toke tanaye tūtujānā | suratnāso devavītiṁ gamema yūyam pāta svastibhiḥ sadā naḥ

This song of mine has reached Indra and Varuṇa; hastening, it has furthered (us) in offspring and progeny. Rich in treasures may we come to the gods' feast. Do you protect us always with blessings.

AI translation rendered from the Sanskrit, not a published edition

Compare with Ralph T.H. Griffith

May this my song reach Varuṇa and Indra, and, strongly urging, win me sons and offspring. To the Gods' banquet may we go with riches. Preserve us evermore, ye Gods, with blessings.

— tr. Ralph T.H. Griffith (1896)
