Pulastya said: Then he created the best of those possessed of yoga, of abundant splendour, the creator of all the worlds, Brahmā, facing in every direction (1.40.1), upon that golden lotus, extending many yojanas, made up of all the qualities of brightness, endowed with earthly characteristics (1.40.2). And the great seers declare that that lotus, which existed of old, was the supreme form of the earth, arisen from Nārāyaṇa (1.40.3).
