With supreme devotion, with speech, body and mind restrained, (I made a vow) to all the treasures without exception, to the host of treasure-guardians, and to Lakṣmī: Let all petitioners hear me — it was promised by me then: "What do you wish? I here give it," while performing the kimicchaka (giving-whatever-is-desired) rite. Having given you the "what-do-you-wish" gift, father, I have come into a strait; therefore, shamelessly, I shall again take a wife. Thus (ends) the one hundred twenty-second chapter, called the Deeds of Avikṣit, in the glorious Mārkaṇḍeya Purāṇa.
