And by her sons and daughters' sons, by grandsons and daughters' grandsons and the rest, this world is filled, for she is the bearer of those men and those women, O sage. — I bow to that exceedingly fierce form of yours which you bear in order to draw up, in the space of eight months, the sap that is made of moon. — Thus she, under strict observance, that goddess made this hymn day and night, taking no food, wishing to propitiate Vivasvat, O sage. Thus (ends) in the glorious Mārkaṇḍeya Purāṇa the hundred-and-first chapter, called the Praise of the Sun.
