But the Vṛṣṇis, because of their fewness, were overwhelmed, O bull of the Bharatas, by the son of Bṛhadratha together with the kings, O lord of kings. Making another effort, he set out against the Yādavas protected by Kṛṣṇa. But having conquered in battle the Māgadha, King Jarāsaṃdha, the great chariot-warriors, the lions of the Vṛṣṇis, dwelt happily. Vigour, brilliance, strength, wisdom, firmness, greatness, prosperity, fame, beauty, command, valour and the like — the supreme hosts of qualities which those who remember (him) obtain; and whose command, which agitates the minds of all people, does not come near the side of his devotees — O mind, do you go forever to the state of a bee at the lotus-feet of that Viṣṇu. At just this time, remembering what had been done among the cowherds, Rāma went alone to Vraja of his own accord, with Kṛṣṇa's consent.

"This, O fair-browed one, is my message told to you, O you who go to the sea; be at peace, O highly blessed one, and go as you please. For as long as the worlds shall stand, so long shall my fame stand." (83.49) Thus addressed, the Yamunā did accordingly as Rāma commanded; and, permitted by Rāma, she went along her course. Seeing the dragging of the Yamunā, all those dwellers of Vraja then cried "Well done, well done!" and made obeisance to Rāma. (83.50) "Homage be to you, lord of the world, Balabhadra, plough-weaponed one! Be gracious, lord of the gods of gods, Rāma, Rāma!" so said the cowherds. Dismissing her of the great current and all those inhabitants of Vraja, then, having reflected in his mind and made up his mind with his intellect, the son of Rohiṇī went swiftly back again to Mathurā.
