Bring her into the house, for she is my daughter-in-law and to be honoured, and welcome your son, long lost and come back again." (99.49) Hearing then the words spoken by Kṛṣṇa, the goddess Rukmiṇī gained matchless joy and spoke: "Ah, I am the more blessed by the meeting with my heroic son! Today my desire is fulfilled, and today my wish is complete — the sight of my long-lost son, together with his beloved. Come, son, enter the house together with your wife." Then, having saluted the feet of Govinda and of his mother, Pradyumna honoured also the mighty plough-bearer. The valorous Keśava, slayer of enemy heroes, raised him up, embraced him and kissed him on the head — Pradyumna, best of the strong. And Rukmiṇī, raising up that lady her daughter-in-law, adorned with gold, embraced and clasped her, her voice choked with affection. Then Rukmiṇī brought her son who had come, united with his wife, into the house, as Aditi brought Indra with Śacī. Thus addressed by Kṛṣṇa, Rukmiṇī, best of women, embracing her son with love and kissing that daughter-in-law on the head, the fair lady brought (him) into the house along with the daughter-in-law. At the very time when Pradyumna was carried off by Śambara, who destroyed himself (thereby), in that very month Sāmba was born of Jāmbavatī.

From childhood on he was employed by Rāma in honours, and, next after Rāma, he was honoured by all the Vṛṣṇis. (100.2) He became indeed Rāma's own dear son, and the eldest too. Then, as soon as he was born, Kṛṣṇa entered that fair city, his enemies and their vassals slain, as an immortal enters Indra's garden.

(100.10) Informed by the messengers, the god, with Balabhadra going before, putting Sātyaki in front, with his army and his attendants, and taking up his bow Śārṅga, wondering "What may this be?" — then the illustrious lotus-eyed Hṛṣīkeśa went forth, together with the bulls of the Yadus, into the presence of the lords of men.

That assembly of the Yādavas and the lords of men then shone like (the assembly) of gods and demons in Brahmā's hall. (100.15) The Lord said this to the kṣatriyas who had come to see him: "All this, O kings, has been declared as yours; whatever is ours, O best of kings, is always equally yours. Let whatever divine wealth there is be taken at will, O most excellent kings." They said "So be it" to the Lord of the world in the Yādava assembly. There, at that gathering, varied talk arose among the Yadus and the kings, with Keśava listening. (100.16) Seeing him, the Lord of the lords of gods, the kṣatriyas were then delighted. Meanwhile the wind blew, stirred up with the roar of clouds, and there was a turbulent overcast, with lightning and thunder.

There is no wonder or blessed one on earth higher than he. Leaving aside that Great God, you ought not to praise us here." Hearing these words of theirs, I came to Kailāsa, and seeing that lord of Pārvatī, I then spoke these words: "God of gods, Great God, blue-throated one, bull-bannered one, you alone are the wonder, you are the blessed one, lord of the world; there is no god anywhere in the world higher than you. This world that is seen, O god, with its moving and unmoving beings — you alone are the support of it all, destroyer of Tripura." As to what you gentlemen ask me, the settling of this statement — all that has been told; I establish it just as it came down. The Vedas have Nārāyaṇa as their highest, the sacrifices have Nārāyaṇa as their highest, knowledge has Nārāyaṇa as its highest, austerity has Nārāyaṇa as its highest. And nothing other than Nārāyaṇa is found in the three worlds; this world, moving and unmoving, has Nārāyaṇa as its self. For this is the eternal course of the Veda's meaning, O kings, if you will hear my supreme word; and this, O best of kings, is wholly true. Having spoken thus, he went to heaven. When Nārada had gone to heaven, all those rulers of the earth, amazed, went to their own kingdoms with their forces and mounts. Having bowed to Viṣṇu, the victorious, Hṛṣīkeśa, Govinda, the Garuḍa-bannered, the Brahman higher than the highest, Nārāyaṇa the flawless, to be known through all the Vedāntas, the teacher Hari, (they said:) "Blessed is this Nārada, since Hari himself was seen by him face to face. Blessed are we, awakened by Nārada to the Lord of the world." All of them, well pleased, praised the Lord of the world, the supreme Person. "Who indeed is this Viṣṇu?" — so say others, deluded, lowest of men; blessed are (those for whom) all is Vāsudeva, who are devoted to the true meaning. Having thus known in truth that Nārāyaṇa is supreme, the kings then circled him to the right and bowed again and again. And Janārdana too, the hero, the bull of the Yadus, accompanied by the Yadus who were like fire, entered his own dwelling.
