Grieving, the best of kings, bereft of a son, spoke these words: "Abandoning the whole kingdom, I must go to the excellent forest." His friends and the townspeople, exceedingly grieved, wept for him; he said to them: "No fear is to be felt; the two ministers have been made your rulers. Then, O best of kings, I shall strive for the destruction of (my) sin." Bhīma said: "My lord, in the region of Vidarbha is my city Kauṇḍinya; you are the seventh man (in the line) from him. Formerly there was a king named Bhīma; (there was one) handsome, endowed with wealth, most excellent, named Vallabha. To him too, after a long time, a single child was born, O king. To make the child rightly, O fair-browed one, do what has been set forth." Thus instructed, the virtuous woman, having abandoned her grief, then (took up) the child.
