For men, separation from a wife is harder than every (other) sorrow, and her reunion (with him) is a happiness greater than the gift of life. That Rati, eager for her lover, had her friends joyfully and carefully make many a fine adornment for her husband and for herself. (Tell me) what is nectar to the ears of those who hear, supremely wonderful and desired, remover of all torment, giver of pleasure, bestower of merit, auspicious. There was no weariness there for the Power and the Possessor of Power, as the two of them shed all the torment born of separation from each other. They made their whole report at Nārāyaṇa's lotus feet, and the Lord Nārāyaṇa said to the Lotus-born: "In another kalpa he suffered separation from a son; serving Śiva and obtaining a son, he gave up his distress. Now do you go home, and the Lord (Śiva) with his own attendants; let Śambhu take his pleasure with Pārvatī in a solitary place."
