He bowed and with devotion praised (him) joyfully with esoteric hymns, and the well-pleased one, fond of his devotees, gave him the remnants (of his food). — Meditating with single mind on that exceedingly lovely form, seeing me in the lotus of the heart, seated in the middle of the thousand petals: "Giver of liberation to the devotees and giver of all riches — if you act wrongly, who then guards dharma? For a very long time I performed austerity, and (so) I obtained you, the Lord; how have I been cheated by you through Viṣṇu's favour, O master?" Having spoken thus, that goddess made ready to abandon her body; terrified, Hara praised her before her and accepted (her). — Śrī Kṛṣṇa said: Hearing her lord's promise she became well satisfied, and at Śaṅkara's command she went quickly to the golden river to bathe.
