With sandal, aloe-wood, musk and saffron, delightful; with flowers of many kinds and with garlands of many sorts; with a coral garland, and devotedly, having muttered this mantra a thousand times and having praised (her), they bowed with their heads to the ground. — By the mere utterance and remembrance of her, these (evils) certainly perish; therefore Durgā has been proclaimed by Hari as Hari's power. And the word "sanātana" denotes the qualityless and eternal one; she who is proclaimed as ever eternal and qualityless is Sanātanī. — By the power of this very hymn the Ordainer obtained the armour, and having obtained the boon and the armour he certainly attained fearlessness. — In this world he obtains firm devotion to Hari and constant remembrance, and at the end servitude (to him), by the grace of Pārvatī. — Candrabhānu, Vīrabhānu, and likewise Sūryabhānu, Vasubhānu, Ratnabhānu — twelve cowherds are recorded. — How is she, the mistress of the gods, able to give the fruit of the vow? She who is able to grant the fruit is able in every action. — O lotus-faced one, O Sāvitrī, O Pārijātā, O Jāhnavī, O nectar-faced one, O auspicious one, O Padmā, O Gaurī, O self-luminous one! — And having placed all the heaps of garments upon (his) shoulders, Kṛṣṇa spoke to the gopīs words full of jest. Rādhikā said: O lord of Goloka, lord of the gopīs, my lord, beloved of (my) life, O friend of the wretched, lord of the wretched, lord of all, homage be to you. — The man who recites at the three junctures of the day this hymn to Hari made by Rādhā obtains devotion to Hari and servitude, and surely Rādhā's state. — At the end of the vow what secret, most delightful, came about? Making an elaboration of it, O greatly blessed one, tell the story of Nārāyaṇa. — O Gaurī, half-bodied consort of Śaṃkara, as you are dear to Śaṃkara, so make me, O auspicious one, the very hard-to-win beloved of (my) lover. — I worship the goddess whose single row of teeth, outshining a row of pearls, gleams, who grants liberation and desire, whose face is the autumn moon. — Having heard Pārvatī's words and seen her glad of heart, the virtuous woman, with hands joined in a cup, bowed and spoke, O Nārada. — Having said this and embraced her, Pārvatī went to her own abode; and that virtuous woman went to Mithilā and assumed the form of an infant. — With the hymn stated in the Kāṇva branch they praised the supreme Goddess: "O you who are of both seen and unseen form, granter to those two of seed and fruit, O you who are in all ways indescribable, O Mahāmāyā, homage be to you." — Seeing the goddess, the cowherd women bowed, filled with joy; Durgā bestowed a blessing: "The fulfilment of your wish shall come to pass." — Thrice seven times Bhṛgu made the earth free of kings; by your mantra, from the armour — how are you a human woman, though chaste? — "As I am endowed with the good fortune of Hara, O you dear to Śrī Hari, so may you be endowed with the good fortune of Kṛṣṇa, O beautiful one." — (His) face the full moon of autumn, bright with a crown of good jewels, his teeth like ripe pomegranate seeds, most charming — "Be you the lord of my life birth after birth; grant me the very hard-to-win devotion at your lotus feet." — Having said this, Śrī Hari stood there on the bank of the Sun's daughter; and all the cowherd girls stood gazing again and again at Kṛṣṇa.
