His tongue, a hundred hands long, was lolling and terrifying; his navel was like a pond; his cry was terrifying. — But here there is the powerful demon Dhenuka in the form of an ass, unconquered by all the thirty (gods), of great strength and prowess. — Seeing him they all wept and dropped the fruits in fear, and again and again they cried out loudly, "Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa!" — "This most sinful one, of great strength and prowess, is to be slain by me; I shall kill him — you, Bala, protect the boys." — "With your sixteen-spoked discus, very sharp and of great brilliance, slay me, O Lord of the worlds; grant me true devotion, O giver of liberation." — He is the life of Yaśodā, the eternal one, the increaser of Nanda's sole joy, the presiding deity of the gopīs' life-breath, dearer than life to Rādhā. — In this world devotion to Hari, and servitude (to him) at the end, are very hard to win; (by it) one obtains learning, prosperity, fine poetic skill, sons and grandsons, and fame. — "Tell me truly, who are you, boy, so lovely and exceedingly beautiful? How have you come here to give me a life hard to obtain?" — He threw him to the ground, crushing him again and again; Mādhava uprooted that palm tree and beat him with it. — Again for a moment there was a fight between the two of them on the ground; Hari, laughing, joyfully praised the lord of the dānavas. — And Bala, the best of the strong, extolled the Supreme Person; all the boys praised him and, filled with joy, danced.
