Śrī Maheśvara said: Listen, O Durgā, I shall declare the supremely wonderful armour, told long ago to me in Goloka by the Supreme Self. Bearing which, the glorious Moon performed the Rājasūya; and by reciting and wearing it, the Sun himself, lord of the three worlds, (became) Hari; and by which long ago Nala won the chaste Damayantī; and by which Śaṅkhacūḍa, the great hero, (became) lord of the demons. One should reveal it to a disciple who is a devotee of Kṛṣṇa, a brahmin; but giving it to a rogue or to another's disciple, one would meet death. In the east may that Rādhā protect (me); in the southeast may the beloved of Kṛṣṇa guard (me); in the south may the mistress of the rāsa protect (me); in the southwest may the lady of the gopīs guard (me). He who daily recites this with devotion and is a worshipper of her mantra becomes ever equal to Viṣṇu and obtains the fruit of the Rājasūya. Just as there is no knower (higher) than a Vaiṣṇava, no lord of yogins higher than Śaṅkara, so by him alone are lust, anger, greed and delusion conquered, O Nārada.
