Tell me some (further) dharma that proclaims the qualities of Śrī Kṛṣṇa, the seed of deliverance for a lakh of men, that carries (one) across the ocean of hell—which even Śeṣa the lord cannot utter with his thousand mouths, and which Mṛtyuñjaya (Śiva) is not able to utter with his five faces; to whom (Śiva) that knowledge was formerly given by Kṛṣṇa the Supreme Self, in the utterly solitary and delightful Goloka, in the circle of the rāsa dance—(Kṛṣṇa) exceedingly desirable, beautiful and most charming, dark as a fresh raincloud, a youth in cowherd's dress; Viṣṇu is the protector of all, and it is out of fear of him that he protects continually; Kālāgnirudra is the destroyer in all the universes out of fear of him; (protecting one) pierced by many weapons and missiles in perilous battles, and guarded by kinsmen on a bed of flowers and sandal—(devotion) merged in Śiva, the support of well-being, in the eternal bliss of knowledge; he is the presiding deity of knowledge, of Kṛṣṇa, of Mahādeva, and of the Self; by whose mere opening of the eyes, that Supreme Self's, creation comes to be—as much as creation arises in the closing of the eyes, so much is dissolution in the opening; and the cutting off of that is auspicious—the supreme service of Śrī Kṛṣṇa; this knowledge of reality, O virtuous lady, is truly the essence of the world and of the Vedas; and so too (worship of) Rādhā, mentally, at the Āṣāḍha saṃkrānti, which bestows all attainments, and in the rāsa on the Kārttikī (full moon), (Rādhā) the beloved dearer to Kṛṣṇa than his life.

kāraṇaṃ muktikāryāṇāṃ sarvāśubhanivāraṇam || dāraṇaṃ karmavṛkṣāṇāṃ kṛta pāpaughahārakam
(It is) the cause of the works of liberation, the warding off of all that is inauspicious, the splitting of the trees of karma, the remover of the mass of sins committed.

tattvajñānavihīnā ca strījātirvidhinirmitā || kiṃ tajjñānaṃ sārabhūtaṃ vada vedavidāṃ vara

sarvadānaṃ hyanaśanaṃ tīrthasnānaṃ vrataṃ tapaḥ || ajñāne jñānadānasya kalāṃ nārhanti ṣoḍaśīm
All giving, fasting, bathing at holy places, vows, austerity—these are not worth a sixteenth part of the gift of knowledge to one who is ignorant.
