yama uvāca || kanyā dvādaśavarṣīyā vatse tvaṃ vayasā'dhunā || jñānaṃ te pūrvaviduṣāṃ yogināṃ jñānināṃ param sāvitryuvāca || satyavadaurasenaiva putrāṇāṃ śatakaṃ mama || bhaviṣyati mahābhāga varametanmadīpsitam nirvāṇarūpā sevā ca kṛṣṇasya paramātmanaḥ || kukarmaṇā jīvaścārogī śubhakarmaṇā sakāmino vaiṣṇavāśca gatvā vaikuṇṭhameva ca || bhārataṃ punarāyānti teṣāṃ janma dvijātiṣu svadharmmarahitāste ca narakaṃ yānti hi dhruvam|| bhārate ca bhavantyeva karmmaṇaḥ phalabhāginaḥ gṛhaṃ dadaṃti viprāya ye janā bhaktipūrvakam || te yāṃti suralokaṃ ca ciraṃ tatra bhavaṃti te puṣpodyānaṃ yo dadāti sāvitri sarvabhūtaye || sa vaseddhruvaloke ca varṣāṇāmayutaṃ dhruvam nābhuktaṃ kṣīyate karmma kalpakoṭiśatairapi || avaśyavameva bhoktavyaṃ kalpakoṭiśatairapi

Yama said: Child, in years you are now a girl of twelve, (yet) your knowledge is beyond that of the ancient learned ones, the yogins and the knowers. — Sāvitrī said: O greatly fortunate one, may I have a hundred sons begotten of Satyavān's own body: this is the boon I desire, and also service to Kṛṣṇa the Supreme Self, which has the form of nirvāṇa. By evil deeds the living being (becomes diseased) and by auspicious deeds free of disease. Even Vaiṣṇavas who still have desires, having gone to Vaikuṇṭha, come back again to Bhārata, and their birth is among the twice-born. But those who are devoid of their own dharma surely go to hell, and (then) they come to be in Bhārata as partakers of the fruit of their deeds. Those people who with devotion give a house to a brahmin go to the world of the gods and remain there long. He who gives a flower-garden, O Sāvitrī, for the welfare of all beings, will surely dwell in Dhruva's world for ten thousand years. A deed does not wear away without being experienced, not even in hundreds of crores of kalpas; it must necessarily be experienced, even after hundreds of crores of kalpas.
