Sauti said: Having seen the universe void, and Goloka terrifying, creatureless, waterless, dreadful, windless, wrapped in darkness — Nārāyaṇa said: (I praise) the excellent one, the one to be chosen, the giver of boons, worthy of boons, the cause of boons, the cause of causes, and the act and the cause of that act. Bearing trident and spear, with a rosary in his hand, supreme, lord of all attainments, perfected, the guru of the gurus of the best of yogins. — Thus, in the Brahmavaivarta, the hymn to Śrī Kṛṣṇa made by Śambhu. Sauti said: After that there appeared from the navel-lotus of Kṛṣṇa a great ascetic, aged and excellent, with a water-pot in his hand. Devotion to Govinda arises, which increases prosperity, sons and grandsons; ill fame comes to an end, and good fame grows for long. At the hour of death (he who has) the name of Hari surely attains his goal; in the end he goes to Hari's abode, and servitude to Hari surely becomes his. Sarasvatī said: (I bow to him) who stands in the middle of the rāsa circle, eager for the joy of the rāsa, seated on a jewelled lion-throne and adorned with jewelled ornaments. After that there appeared from the intellect of the Supreme Self that goddess who presides over all, the root nature, the sovereign lady. Who is competent to describe his incomparable might, O mighty one, who by the mere play of a knitting of his brow could create ten million Viṣṇus?
