Seven are the regions with their several suns, seven the hotṛs, the officiating priests, seven the gods, the Ādityas — with these, O Soma, protect us. Flow round, O Indu, for Indra. That oblation of yours, O king, which has been cooked — with that, O Soma, protect us; let no enemy overcome us, and let nothing at all harm us. Flow round, O Indu, for Indra. O seer, with the praises of the mantra-makers, O Kaśyapa, increasing the songs, do homage to King Soma, who was born lord of plants. Flow round, O Indu, for Indra. I am an artisan, my father a physician, my mother a grinder at the stones; with our various purposes, seeking gain, we have followed after (him) like cattle. Flow round, O Indu, for Indra. Having spoken thus, and having obtained the soma for the thunderbolt-wielder along with the seers, and having given it to them, thereupon the sacrifice of Śatakratu became complete.
