श्री-शुक उवाच एवं-विधानि कर्माणि गोपाः कृष्णस्य वीक्ष्य ते अतद्-वीर्य-विदः प्रोचुः समभ्येत्य सु-विस्मिताः

When the god (Indra) rained, in anger at the disruption of his sacrifice, with showers of thunderbolts and hail and with winds, and seeing the herdsmen, animals and women sinking down and taking refuge in him, he, compassionate and smiling broadly, uprooted the mountain with one hand—effortlessly, as a child (lifts) a mushroom in play—and holding it up he protected the cow-station, he who shattered great Indra's pride: may he, the Indra of the cows, be pleased with us.
