ययोर् ओजसा स्कभिता रजांसि यौ वीर्यैर् वीरतमा शविष्ठा । यौ पत्येते अप्रतीतौ सहोभिर् विष्णुम् अगन् वरुणं पूर्वहूतिः

yayor ojasā skabhitā rajāṃsi yau vīryair vīratamā śaviṣṭhā | yau patyete apratītau sahobhir viṣṇum agan varuṇaṃ pūrvahūtiḥ

The two by whose force the mid-spaces are propped apart, who by manly deeds are most heroic, most mighty, who hold sway unopposed by their powers — the first invocation has gone to Viṣṇu and Varuṇa.

Compare with Ralph T.H. Griffith

The early morning prayer hath come to Vishnu and Varuna, Lords through might, whom none hath equalled, Gods by whose power the realms of air were stablished, strongest and most heroic in their vigour.

— tr. Ralph T.H. Griffith (1895–96)

AV 7 25.2

यस्येदं प्रदिशि यद् विरोचते प्र चानति वि च चष्टे शचीभिः । पुरा देवस्य धर्मणा सहोभिर् विष्णुम् अगन् वरुणं पूर्वहूतिः

yasyedaṃ pradiśi yad virocate pra cānati vi ca caṣṭe śacībhiḥ | purā devasya dharmaṇā sahobhir viṣṇum agan varuṇaṃ pūrvahūtiḥ

He in whose direction is this that shines here, and breathes forth, and gazes about with his powers — of old, by the god's ordinance, with (his) mights — the first invocation has gone to Viṣṇu and Varuṇa.

AI translation rendered from the Sanskrit, not a published edition — the model flagged this verse as uncertain

Compare with Ralph T.H. Griffith

The early prayer hath ever come to Vishnu and Varuna by that God's high power and statute. In whose control is all this world that shineth, all that hath powers to see and all that breatheth.

— tr. Ralph T.H. Griffith (1895–96)
