Atharvaveda Samhita — Kanda 4 — Chapter 34

AV 4 34.1

brahmāsya śīrṣaṃ bṛhad asya pṛṣṭhaṃ vāmadevyam udaram odanasya | chandāṃsi pakṣau mukham asya satyaṃ viṣṭārī jātas tapaso'dhi yajñaḥ

The brahman is its head, the bṛhat its back, the vāmadevya the belly of the rice-porridge; the metres are its two wings, its mouth is truth; the far-spreading (porridge), born out of ascetic heat, is the sacrifice.

Compare with Ralph T.H. Griffith

The head of this is prayer, its back the Brihat, Odanas's belly is the Vāmadevya; Its face reality, its sides the metre, Vishtāri sacrifice produced from fervour.

Boneless, purified, cleansed by the winnowing-wind, the pure ones go to the pure world; Jātavedas does not burn up their member: in the heavenly world much womanhood is theirs.
